Gould Rd.



A view from Gould's Road. Near Gould's Road is the Greylock Glen. The Glen is home to various animals and human visitors. There were ideas to turn this area into a resort casino, but those plans fell through, and wildlife was preserved.

Tower



Greylock's tower. The tower can be seen below the mountain, and from within the tower vast land can be viewed in any direction.

Bascam Lodge harbors hundreds of hikers each year. Beginner hikers can enjoy hot coffee, or apple cider in the winter time to warm themselves. The lodge is small and cozy. A fireplace burns woods near the lodge's entrance.

Ishmael




Herman Melville spent some of his life living in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, which is about 40 minutes from Mt. Greylock. It is said that Melville obtained inspiration to write "Moby Dick" from looking at the distant mountain, which, from a certain angle, subtly resembles the image of a whale.

"Lighthouse"



This is the tower at the peak of Mt. Greylock. Originally the tower was intended for the Boston Harbor. Inside the tower is a narrow black spiral staircase. From the top of the tower observers can look several hundred miles to the east across Massachusetts, and several hundred miles to the west across parts of New York.

Mt. Greylock



Mt. Greylock. Massachusetts' highest mountain located in Adams, Massachusetts. Elevation 3,491 feet. Greylock is part of the Appalacian Mountain range and hosts hundreds of annual hikers. The mountain is home to hundreds of species of animals, land and water. Greylock is in danger of capitalist endeavors, as talks of ski trails and a casino endanger the surrounding wildlife. The best time to visit Greylock is on Memorial Day.
