Ishmael




Herman Melville spent some of his life living in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, which is about 40 minutes from Mt. Greylock. It is said that Melville obtained inspiration to write "Moby Dick" from looking at the distant mountain, which, from a certain angle, subtly resembles the image of a whale.
